LEWIS M. GOODKIN TO APPEAR ON ABC NEWS’ “20/20”
ANALYZING SOUTH FLORIDA’S FRENZIED REAL ESTATE MARKET
MIAMI, FL – Noted national real estate analyst Lewis M. Goodkin will analyze South Florida’s overheated new condominium market on an upcoming segment of ABC News’ “20/20” program.
“For the past three years, South Florida has seen a frenzy of new development driven by speculators hoping to flip their units for immediate profit,” said Goodkin, president of Miami-based Goodkin Consulting. “Our firm’s research indicates more than 50,000 new condominium units are planned or under construction in Miami-Dade County – far in excess of actual demand from real end-users of these units.”
ABC News is is scheduled to be broadcast Goodkin’s interview on September 15, 2005.
Widely recognized as one of the nation’s leading consultants to the real estate industry, Goodkin has directed more research on large-scale planned communities, golf resort communities, condominium communities and residential resorts than any other market analyst in the United States.
Goodkin is the author of the highly acclaimed book, “When Real Estate and Home Building Becomes Big Business,” was selected by the Library Journal as one of the year’s best business books, and has written more than 1,500 professional articles.
A graduate of Temple University, Goodkin has lectured frequently on urban land economics, real estate investment, development and marketing. He serves on the Real Estate Advisory Board of the University of Florida and the Advisory Board of the School of Design at the University of Florida. He is former chairman of the South Florida-Caribbean District Council of the Urban Land Institute and past chairman of the South Florida-Caribbean Chapter of the American Society of Real Estate Counselors (CRE). He is a designated member of the Institute of Residential Marketing and Lambda Alpha International (an honorary land economics society).
